Special Events Co-Chair Frances Miller grew up in the Northeast, graduated from Wellesley College with a BA in English, and spent her working life with books and readers. Jobs included school librarian, middle school teacher, reading teacher, author of four popular novels for teenagers (francesamiller.com) and speaker at numerous middle and high schools during the eighties and nineties. She earned her Masters in Library Science and became a public librarian just as computers were changing the world of books forever. She and husband John arrived in Chestertown in 1999 by way of Michigan, Arizona, the San Francisco area, Australia, Louisiana, and Wilmington N.C. where they operated a B&B for almost five years. Since moving to Chestertown, she has become so involved in the many activities and organizations the town has to offer, that she sometimes feels like a weekend kayaker in Class five waters.
