- Important papers (financial aid, registration information, driver’s license, medical insurance, social security card). NOTE: Any student who is working on-campus will need to provide two forms of ID at the time of hire. Typically, students provide a state-issued photo identification card like a drivers license and a social security card or passport).
- Desk supplies
- Desk and/or bed lamp
- Snack foods in sealable containers
- Basic tools (ratchet set for lofting the beds)
- Telephone for on-campus phone calls and voicemail service
- Linens for extra-long mattresses
- Iron/ironing board
- Stereo - with headphones
- Small refrigerator (less than 5 cubic feet)
- Microwave
- Dishes
- Posters and decorations for the room. Please note that, per the Fire Marshall, only 10% of the walls in any residence hall room or suite may be covered with posters or decorations. Nothing should be hung from the ceiling.
- Fan for use in summer months
- Bathroom essentials
- Laundry basket
- Ethernet cable or wireless card
- Phone cord

Things Not To Bring
- Firearms or weapons of any kind
- Fireworks
- Illegal drugs
- Waterbeds
- Pets of any kind, except for fish
- Any appliance with an open heating coil
- Candles or any item with an open flame element
