Gaming FAQ

What do I need to know about gaming with my computer?

Computer gaming at Washington College is guided by the Contract on Gaming Group Access at Washington College, also known as the Gaming Policy. All users who wish to access online games with their computers must:

  • Abide by all rules outlined in the Gaming Policy
  • Submit a signed copy of the Gaming Policy contract to the HelpDesk in William Smith Hall
  • Submit their computer's Ethernet MAC address with their signed Gaming Policy contract
  • Present their Washington College student ID along with their MAC address and Gaming Policy contract
  • Leave their computer connected to the network after submitting their request until a notification is received stating they have been activated

What do I need to know about gaming with my console?

Console gamers need only email the HelpDesk with their device's MAC address to for access to the campus network. Please allow up to 3 business days for OIT to process this request.

When will my computer be activated?

If you have already submitted your signed Gaming Policy contract and MAC address, OIT will take up to 5 business days to process your request. After submitting your materials, please leave your computer connected to the network until you receive a notification stating that your activation has been successful.

When will my console be activated?

If you have already submitted your MAC address, OIT will need up to 5 business days to process your request.
