Dear New Full-Time Faculty Members,
Welcome to Washington College! On this page you will find answers to some FAQ’s and advance notice on important dates ahead:
Q. Once I have completed the background check, received a contract, and signed and returned the contract to the College, what do I do now?
A. You will need to complete the “pay pack”, and return it to Human Resources. The pay pack may be found at: <http://www.washcoll.edu/wc/offices/human-resources/new-employee-forms.php>.
Completion of the pay pack includes appearing in person in HR, to complete the I-9 form. Please call (410) 778-7298, to schedule an appointment.
Q. By what date do faculty need to have their pay pack completed to begin working in the Fall? When will they be entered into the College information system?
A. Benefit eligible (July 18 start date) - The pay pack needs to be completed by July 16. Your information will be loaded into the College system during the week of July 21, and the first paycheck will be issued on July 31.*
Non Benefit eligible (August 2 start date) - The pay pack needs to be completed by July 30. Your information will be loaded into the College system during the week of August 4, and the first paycheck will be issued on August 15.*
*The above dates represent the LATEST dates that the pay pack must be completed by. If all new hire paperwork is completed beforehand, new faculty may be loaded into the system as early as the week of July 7.
Q. When will I have access to Washington College email/Canvas/parking permits/keys/College ID Card?
A. After your new hire paperwork is completed, and entered into the system, you should wait 24-48 hours before contacting the HelpDesk, at(410) 778-7777, for your email username and password. You may use the same timeline before contacting Public Safety, in person, for your parking permit, keys, and College ID card.
Q. How do I request a computer?
A. Please contact John Anderson, at the HelpDesk (firstname.lastname@example.org, 410-778-7777), with hardware requests.
Q. Where will my office be? When will I have access to it?
A. The Provost’s Office is in the process of re-assigning offices, and constructing new office spaces. The target date for office completion, with full access, is Monday, August 4.
