  • 4:00pm - 6:00pm: GEO Holiday Party

     Come to the Global Education Office’s Holiday Party to celebrate all the holidays of the season! We will decorate our holiday tree with all of the beautiful ornaments you made during International Education Week while enjoying hot chocolate, cookies, and company!

  • 4:00pm - 6:00pm: International Student Farewell Reception

    We would like to invite the faculty and international students to join us for a reception to say goodbye to the international students who will be leaving us this semester!

  • All Day: Philadelphia Trip
    The GEO is sponsoring a trip to Philadelphia! Students will have the day to explore the city, it’s history, food, and fun! 

November 8th, 2014

  • All Day: White House and Capitol Tour
    The GEO office is sponsoring a trip for students to visit Washington D.C. The trip includes a tour of the White House as well as a tour of the Capitol Building. Additionally, students will have free time to explore the city! 

October 29th, 2014

  • 7:00pm - 9:00pm: Pumpkin Carving

    Are you ready to celebrate Halloween?

    Cultural Ambassadors will be hosting a Pumpkin Carving Night in the I-House Basement on Wednesday October 29th! 

    Bring your own pumpkin if you can, but we will provide all the carving tools and have a few extra pumpkins!

    GEO Office is going to take a trip to a Montpelier Farms Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze for some traditional fall fun!

  • 7:30pm: Diwali Festival
    Diwali, also known as the “festival of lights”, is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated in autumn every year. This year the GEO office and Cultural Ambassadors are working together to bring Diwali to WAC’s Campus!

    So come down to Martha Washington Square on Friday and help us celebrate this beautiful festival of lights!

    The Global Education Office partnered with the C.V.Starr Center set out to Colonial Williamsburg for the weekend to discover the history of early America.

    The GEO took a day trip out to the city of Brotherly Love.

  • All Day: Culture Night
    Run by the International Relations club, Culture Night is an event in which students prepare signature dishes from their home countries.
  • All Day: Blitz Ball
    After feasting at Culture Night, International students descended the stairs into 1940’s London for the annual Blitz Ball hosted by Washington College’s History Society.

    For International Education week, we were kickin’ it old school with the crafty camp classic, the Friendship Bracelet.

    For International Education Week, Cultural Ambassadors set up stations for holidays celebrated around the world.

    Washington College students came out to draw the flags of their home countries or countries where they have lived today to celebrate International Education Week 2013!

    After the trip to the pumpkin patch students got straight to carving.

    Cultural Ambassadors took a trip to the pumpkin patch to gather pumpkins to carve.

    All students returned to campus for a celebratory picnic where new and old international students met for the first time.
