International Orientation is a one-week long welcome program to Washington College.
It is mandatory for all incoming international students to attend orientation. During Orientation, you will discover Washington College and the surrounding waterfront town of Chestertown, MD. You will meet other international and domestic students while learning important information that will help your transition to Washington College be smooth and successful. There will be time to get student IDs, set up bank accounts, shop, and get American cell phones.
International Student Orientation
Upon arrival to Washington College, students arriving in the fall will have a one-week orientation program that will take you step by step through everything that you need to know as an International Student at this institution. Students arriving in the spring will have a four-day orientation.
The orientation program aims to (1) help you with the initial adjust and acclimatization to the U.S. and Washington College; (2) Ensure that you have an overview of the academic system in the U.S. and time to meet with your advisor; (3) Meet and get to know other international students and incoming U.S. students; (4) Familiarize you with campus and the community of Chestertown.
