Good content is more than words on a page. Your content is part of your relationship with your audience—whether that audience is prospective or current students, alumni, faculty and staff or the community.
We have recommendations for strategy and information architecture, which are summarized on this site and available for download. Please keep this advice in mind as you work on your site. If you have any questions, get in touch—we’re happy to help you develop your content strategy.
If we had to choose three bits of advice to give you as you work, we would say:
- Keep your titles short and interesting.
- Keep your navigations easy to understand: short (6-8 links for the main navigation) and do not use jargon.
- Read the page aloud!
And always, always remember your audience.
