Become an OAS Peer Tutor

Interested to become a Peer Tutor?


Job Responsibilities:

A. Responsible for providing academic and study                                                                                          skills assistance in your subject area.

B. Responsible for developing rapport with peers and faculty.

C.Responsible for making referrals when needed.

D. Responsible for being present and on time to scheduled appointment hours.

E. Attending all mandatory staff activities ( staff meetings, trainings, events etc.)

F. Maintain contact with Assistant Director of OAS.


A. Be competent in your academic or subject area (B or higher)

B. Have cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.

C. Consider yourself an excellent student with good study habits.

D. Be highly recommended by faculty within the departments you wish to tutor.

E. View helping others as an important activity to students seeking help.


A. The position requires that you provide both individual  tutoring upon requests from the WC online appointment system. You can work up to 5 hours a week and will be paid at a minimum wage (may vary).

B. Students selected for the position will be required to attend Peer Tutor Training.
