Q&A

Hometown: Hampstead, MD

High School: North Carroll High School

What do you do for a campus job or work study?
I work for Central Services (mail room) where I deliver packages and mail to students, professors, and staff.  I also work as a Course Mentor and a Peer Mentor.

What are you up to this summer? And what are you most looking forward to?
I will be staying on campus this summer to conduct research on the Chester River. I will be helping Dr. Krahforst to develop a method to trace barium within the water in order to determine how much groundwater is flowing into the Chester River. I am really looking forward to traveling on the water to collect the samples necessary for the research. I am also looking forward to working in the Biogeochemistry lab and learning how to use the equipment within it.

How has WC changed your life? Or, what does WC mean to you?
I have made some incredible friends thanks to WAC, and I have had more fun than I ever would have imagined. I have been given opportunities that I never thought I would have because WAC and all of its hard working professors and staff.

What so far has been your favorite tradition or memory at WC?
May Day is without a doubt my favorite WAC tradition. I think it’s great that people can participate in an event such as May Day and it brings a unique aspect and energy to our school that no other college has.

What is your favorite quote?

“He who says he can, and he who says he can’t are both usually right.”
