Denise Meehl is a junior history and secondary education student from Souderton, Pennsylvania. She is planning on teaching high school history after graduating from Washington College. She is the co-president and co-founder of Washington College’s History Society, as well as Service Chair of Pi Lambda Theta, as well as being involved in Phi Alpha Theta, Service Council, and International Relations Club. She spent last spring studying abroad at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and loves traveling. At the Starr Center, she is working as a student researcher and has been looking into Henry Highland Garnet, a native to Kent County who escaped slavery and was very active in fighting against the institution in the United States.
