Laura Human

Class of 2008

GIS Intern

Laura spent her time as a GIS Intern creating maps of Kent County’s Worton Park.  She worked to provide the Parks and Recreation department with maps to enable visitors to easily locate sports fields and facilities.  She also provided maps of utilities, roads, walkways, and plats to allow smoother maintenance and everyday functioning of the park.  Laura taught the Parks and recreation department how to navigate and update the database she created and how to use the GIS software.  Laura was previously interned with the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center.  She was an Environmental Studies major and wrote her Senior Capstone Experience on the Water Crisis in China.  Laura was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, the Student Environmental Alliance, Order of Omega, and worked as a caterer and telecounselor on campus.
