Sara Boggess Meinsler, LCSW-C graduated in 1993 with a BA in Sociology.
Following graduation from WC, she began the MSW program at The University of Maryland at Baltimore’s School of Social Work. After graduating with a specialization in Gerontology in 1995, she has served in numerous positions serving the older adult population and their families. She was the Director of Social Services for Ginger Cove, a retirement community in Annapolis; a Social Worker at Oak Crest Village, a retirement community near Towson and a Respite Care Coordinator at the Central Maryland Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. She has provided various presentations on the topics of care giving, self-care and Alzheimer ’s disease.
Since 2004, Sara has been working as an Assistant Professor and Fieldwork Liaison in the Human Services Department at Anne Arundel Community College, located in Arnold, MD. She also teaches continuing education classes in various venues for social workers and counselors on the topic of ethics. Sara’s other full time job includes caring for her 3 children: son, age 9 ½, son, age 7 and daughter, age 3. Sara and her husband Tim (a physical therapist working with the elderly) have been married for 12 years and enjoy participating in activities at their church, spending time carting kids around to sports and activities, and vacationing in Myrtle Beach. Sara is really looking forward to seeing MANY classmates from the Class of 1993 and surrounding years at Reunion Weekend in June!
