What do you do for a campus job or work study?
I work as an International Student Guide and Multimedia Assistant for the Global Education Office, and as a Teaching Assistant in the Spanish Department.
Tell us about your Washington College Externship Program experiences.
I highly recommend involvement in the Externship Program to all freshmen and sophomores! It is an excellent way to explore possible career paths and network with alumni who are very passionate about their work. Over spring break, I shadowed the Development Officer at Tostan in Washington D.C. Tostan is a non-profit organization that works in ten African countries, advocating for women’s rights based on human rights, and encouraging change to come from within each community by empowering its people. Over fall break, I shadowed a Senior Producer at Cable-Satellite Public Affairs Network (C-SPAN) in Washington D.C., a non-profit dedicated to educating the public about current topics in world affairs. This January, I will be completing a job shadowing at the Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers, a key resource on philanthropic pursuits in the region. These externships have furthered my interest in joining the Peace Corps after graduation.
