Brittany traveled extensively during her undergraduate career.
“Everyone says Muslim women are oppressed, but the women run everything,” says Brittany Borden ‘08, an international studies major who spent her junior year in Morocco. “At least behind closed doors, women rule the roost and the men appreciate that.” This is just one insight Brittany gained from a study abroad experience that took her from the Maasai villages of Tanzania, to the deserts of Morocco, to the halls of Parliament in London.
“When you go abroad, you learn about the world from a different perspective. It’s eye-opening. My professors have always encouraged me to look further and broaden my perspective. I learned so much about myself and what I was capable of doing,” she said.
