Mary Ruth Yoe has spent her career in higher-education communications.
With an M.Litt. degree from the University of Edinburgh, she has written admissions and alumni materials for Grinnell and Middlebury colleges; has helped to edit alumni magazines (including the inaugural issue of the Washington College Magazine) for more than a dozen institutions; and has written and taught on editing. At the University of Chicago, where she has worked since 1989, she is executive editor of the bimonthly University of Chicago Magazine and oversees a variety of alumni and development communications.
The mother of two grown daughters, she shares a lakefront apartment in Hyde Park with her dog, Mr. Knightley. Mary Ruth also serves as the Class Correspondent for 1973.
