Suzanne Rhodes

Class of 1962

Since Graduation:
I found myself relieving bureaucratic stresses in the community - mostly environmentally related – with South Carolina Wildlife Federation as a Board and then as an Emeritus board member - for three decades now – and also with League of Women Voters and various local teams. I am concerned that the Savannah River Site has “invited” commercial spent fuel to be sent to SRS (now that Yucca Mountain has been closed), for a future of “temporary” long-term storage. I follow that issue for LWV/SC. I am happily retired for four years, living with a “retired” guy who continues to teach two to four days a week. We enjoy sailing our San Juan 21 on Columbia’s Lake Murray, gatherings with our adult “kids,” the SC coast, and traveling. For now we have given up on cruises, and plan for a cross-country auto trip to see friends, family, monuments and parks this summer.
