Richard V. Fitzgerald

Class of 1960

Richard “Dick” Fitzgerald recently joined the law firm of Barnett, Sivon & Natter, P.C. as Of Counsel. The firm specializes in representing financial institutions and other parties before federal and state financial regulatory agencies and the U.S. Congress.Mr. Fitzgerald has an esteemed career as an attorney. In 1963, he joined the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), U.S. Department of the Treasury, as a trust examiner in the Fifth National Bank Region. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Fitzgerald was commissioned as a Representative in Trust and served as the principal assistant to the Deputy Comptroller of the Currency for Trusts, responsible for the supervision and regulation of the fiduciary activities of all national banks. In 1971, Mr. Fitzgerald joined the OCC’s Law Department as a staff attorney and subsequently became the Director of the Law Department’s largest division, the Legal Advisory Services Division.
