Margaret Janney ‘76
Margaret Goldstein Janney ’76 - Ms. Janney, a Realtor with Amerivest Realty in Naples, FL, graduated from Washington College in 1976 with a B.A. in Political Science.
From an early age, she spent time helping her father, Louis L. Goldstein ’35, run for election and re-election as Maryland State Comptroller. She followed her father’s path of public service with a position as a staff member to U.S. Representative Roy Dyson, U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg, and from 1991 to 1999, she served as Executive Assistant to U.S. Senator Paul D. Wellstone. During her years of service in Washington, Mrs. Janney attended American University for master’s degree work in Public Administration. She also completed a semester of work at the University of Maryland College Park in film, radio, and television.
Ms. Janney has been active over the years with the Washington College Alumni Association. She served as the 1970s Decade Member. She co-founded the S.W. Florida Alumni Chapter in Naples, Florida, and served on the President’s Leadership Council (PLC) prior to her appointment to the Board of Visitors and Governors.
In 2001, and for 10 years, Ms. Janney co-owned and managed Janney Real Estate Services, Inc. in Naples, Florida. She is a current member of the Naples Area Board of Realtors, the Florida Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. Mrs. Janney lives in Naples, FL and Chestertown, MD with her husband William (Bill) R. Janney III ‘76.
