Murray Drabkin – Mr. Drabkin, a past member of the President’s Leadership Council is a retired partner with the law firm of Cadwalader Wickersham and Taft LLP where he headed the firm’s bankruptcy reorganization practice until his retirement in 1992.
He served of counsel to the firm of Hopkins & Sutter from 1992-2000. He has served as Counsel to the Committee on the Judiciary, U.S. House of Representatives and as a Special Assistant to the Mayor of New York City. He is a member of the Washington, DC Bar. He served in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1957, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
Mr. Drabkin has served on the Nominating Committee for the Harvard Board of Overseers and serves on a number of committees of the Harvard Alumni Association. His current and former affiliations include: member of the National Bankruptcy Conference (Chairman of the Committee on Railroad Reorganization 1984-2000; Chairman of the Committee on Bankruptcy Crimes 1994-98); Harvard Club of Washington (President 2000-2002 and Director since 1996); member of the Cosmos Club, Washington, DC; the Harvard Club of N.Y.C.; the Chesapeake Bay Bermuda 40 Association, and President of the Fellows of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
Murray Drabkin received his AB from Hamilton College in 1950 and his LLB from Harvard Law School in 1953. He is married to Mary Elizabeth Drabkin. They have residences in Washington, DC and Trappe, MD.
