Patrick Allender P’11
Pat Allender served for 12 years as CFO of the Danaher Corporation, which operates a wide variety of businesses, primarily in scientific and technology industries, with annual sales of $16 billion and over 50,000 employees. He became executive vice president in 1999 and oversaw the Danaher Foundation. He retired in February 2007 and continues to work for Danaher on a consulting basis.
Before working for Danaher, Allender was a partner with Arthur Andersen, LLP. He is a director for the Brady Corporation, a manufacturer of more than 50,000 industrial identification and specialty coated material products. He is chair of Brady’s finance committee and a member of the audit and governance committees.
He is also a director for the Colfax Corporation, a world leader in the development, engineering, manufacturing, distribution, service, and support of gas, fluid-handling systems, and welding solutions. Allender is a member of its audit committee and also chairs the nominating committee. In 2011, he joined the Board of Directors of Diebold Incorporated, a global leader in self-service delivery and security systems and services, and is a member of the audit committee.
Allender and his wife, Debbie, are the parents of John Allender ’11. They supported the Toll Science Center campaign and have been regular donors to The Washington Fund at the Alonzo G. Decker Jr. Society level ($25,000 and up). Allender was a member of the President’s Leadership Council from 2006 to 2008. The Allenders reside in Nevada and Arizona.
