Maria oversees all aspects of the Alumni Weekend, including creating and managing the Weekend schedule, and coordinating event logistics. To accomplish this goal, she works with the Classes and Reunions Committee of the Alumni Board, and recruits and trains a staff of student workers to work the Weekend.
She also collaborates with the Co-Chairs of the Alumni Alliance Committee of the Alumni Board to bring together alumni groups, clubs and affinities, and recruits new alumni groups and affinities to join the Alliance. She is responsible for developing and maintaining training materials for alumni groups to grow their programming and constituencies, and serves as the primary liaison between these affinity groups and the College.
Her committee work assignments also include collaboration with the Awards Committee of the Alumni Board, to facilitate the nomination and selection of alumni award candidates, and assist the Awards Committee in developing new and creative ways to recognize outstanding alumni.
Maria looks for ways to create and coordinate opportunities for the Alumni Relations/Annual Giving team to connect with parents and other campus constituents; especially during traditional events like New Student Orientation, Fall Family Weekend, Homecoming, Flock Out, and War on the Shore.
Maria is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in the Humanities, and expects to receive her degree in May of 2015.
