I’m glad that you have chosen to include Washington College in your college search.

Washington College is a wonderful institution that provides students the opportunity to grow, both as individuals and as community members. This is a place where visions spark, where people make connections, and where ingenuity flourishes. Here, students can think critically and challenge themselves while pursuing a multi-faceted liberal arts education. Students are able to learn inside the classroom and also gain the ability to build skills and interpret life lessons outside the classroom.

I highly value the liberal arts education that I received. The liberal arts environment allowed me to explore a variety of courses and academic programs. Not only was I able to work closely with professors, I was able to grow as an individual within several different activities. Starting freshman year, I became involved in Student Government, and became president my junior year. I was also involved on campus as a Resident Assistant, a Peer Mentor, a Career Center Ambassador, a tour guide, the Washington College Review 2007 student editor, the Pegasus 2008 (Yearbook) Editor-in-Chief, and a Comegys Bight Fellow in 2007. I know the skills I developed, the breadth of knowledge I gained, and the opportunities that I experienced will stay with me throughout my life, contributing to my success.

As an American Studies major, I was able to conduct undergraduate summer research off-campus thanks to the C.V. Starr Center for the Study of the American Experience, which has close ties to the American Studies department.

Come visit to see for yourself! Chestertown is a beautiful, historic eastern shore town that provides a great environment for college students to live, learn, and grow.

Aundra works for the Office of Admissions, working with prospective students from Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Maryland (Baltimore area and Western Maryland) Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

Named Maryland’s College Counselor of the Year 2010-2011 by the Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling.

Named Feature Employee of the month May 2012.
