“BEST PICTURE” MOVIES 1949-1963, PART 2

Film/Moderated Discussion

 

Continuing the time frame from Part 1, Part 2 of this course will offer five films that were nominated for Best Picture. They will include Witness for the Prosecution, Judgment at Nuremberg, and Lilies of the Field. Within a week of each upcoming movie, a synopsis and informational material will be furnished to students by email or regular mail. Additional information about the movies will be provided at the start of each class, and a brief discussion will be held after each film. When available, the movies will be shown with closed captioning.

 

NANCY HARTMAN’s insatiable appetite for vintage movies began many decades ago. It prompted her to do extensive research into many of the more prominent movies. In 2010 she was afforded an opportunity to share her love for these vintage films by showing them weekly for almost four years to Kent County Public Libra
