My professors didn’t just teach me lessons about theatre; they taught me lessons about myself.
Why Washington College?
College is the place where you will fall in and out of love. Sometimes it’s with a significant other, a hobby, or a favorite coffee shop. More importantly, it is with yourself. What better place to fall in love and stay in love with yourself at than on a campus where your peers, staff, and faculty members will be cheering you on along the way?
At Washington College you will be taught many important lessons both inside and outside of the classroom. Here, you will not just be encouraged to excel academically. You will also be asked to engage with the world around you. Place is very important to us and I think that Chestertown has a place for everyone.
Whether it’s a spot on the women’s basketball team or a place in Habitat for Humanity, you will find a niche group that is perfect for your needs and desires.
As a Theatre major I was able to direct a full-scale production to fulfill my senior capstone experience. This was not only an amazing creative outlet, but a true application of the theory I had studied in the classroom. From co-planning rehearsal schedules with my stage manager to looking at ground plans with my scenic designer, I was constantly challenged to step into a leadership role that I wouldn’t have been so readily offered at any other school.
I encourage you to come to Maryland’s Eastern Shore for a tour of our historic campus and see just what we have to offer!
