In Depth: Warner & Beacham Prizes
This Monday the Rose O’Neill Literary House hosted the annual Senior Reading. The turn out was great and the students’ writing was fantastic. We want to again thank everyone who participated. But the night ended on a note that is not often played.
This year for the first time ever the same student won the William Warner Prize , awarded to the Washington College undergraduate who shows the greatest aptitude for writing about nature and the environment, and the Veryan Beacham Prize, given to a Washington College Junior for excellent writing that reflects and helps shape a greater understanding about vital issues in civic life, culture, and society. Yes, Tim Marcin is this year’s winner of both the Beacham and Warner Prizes.
