Prize-winning young musicians continue the College’s Community Concert Series, now in its 61st year.

CHESTERTOWN, MD—The Washington College Community Concert Series continues Wednesday, March 6, with a performance by the up-and-coming Calidore String Quartet. The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the Gibson Center for the Arts.  Tickets, available at the door, are $15 per adult, $5 for youth ages 18 and under, and free for Washington College students with a valid ID.

Established at the Colburn School Conservatory of Music in 2010, the Calidore String Quartet features violinists Jeffrey Myers and Ryan Meehan, violist Jeremy Berry, and cellist Estelle Choi. The talented young group, praised for its technical skill and passionate musicianship, has surged in popularity since its October 2010 debut. It has toured across the country, won grand prizes at both the Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition and the Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition, and collaborated with major artists such as Joshua Bell and the Calder Quartet.  Individually, the musicians have worked with a number of other notable ensembles and artists, including the Tokyo, St. Lawrence, and Cavani string quartets, and musicians Paul Coletti, Joseph Silverstein and John Perry.

The Gibson Center for the Arts is located on the Washington College campus, 30 Washington Avenue, Chestertown.
