\ X-LIVEWHALE-SUMMARY:This first event in the Fall 2013 lecture series "What can I do with my Environmental Studies Degree?" features a conversation between Prof. Lynn Bergeson\, Bergeson &\; Campbell PC and Prof. Jane Barrett\, Director of UMD's Environmental Law Clinic. Prof. Bergeson gained international recognition for her work with chemical regulatory programs under the Toxic Substances Control Act and on issues relating to emerging transformative technologies\, especially nanotechnology. Prof. Barrett has served in the EPA as well as the Assistant United States Attorney\, and her work in environmental law has spanned from local to national issues. Environmental Studies major Julia Erbe will host a conversation between Bergeson and Barrett concerning the practice of environmental law in Maryland and possible career opportunities for students.
