S. government data on degree completions.\nIn the wake of increasing scale and importance of data analysis in his work and in the MLA\, his title changed to Director of the Office of Research and ADE in 2007. Prior to the MLA\, Laurence was Assistant Professor of English at SUNY\, Stony Brook. He holds an AB from Amherst College\, and an MPhil and PhD from Yale\, all in American Studies.
