GIS Camp 2011
Washington College’s Geospatial Technology Summer Camp offers a unique summer camp experience for kids in grades 7-12. Campers spent one week at Washington College exploring many areas of this growing field. In combination with GIS, campers also explored the chemistry of the surrounding waterways, the ecology of the Chester River Watershed, the history of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kent County, and the way police use GIS to fight crime in Prince George’s County. By the end of the week campers walk away with a better understanding of how GIS is used in everyday life.
