Going up against six other teams in head-to-head racing, Washington dominated during three full round robins for a total of 63 races. The performance qualified Washington, along with second-place Cornell, for one of the final two spots at the Prosser Trophy, the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association’s Team Race Championships, to be hosted April 6-7 by Hobart and William Smith.
Over this past Fall Break, the Multimedia Production Center hosted a 4 day photography-centric experiential learning adventure for students on the upper Chesapeake Bay. Brian Palmer (Director of Digital Media Services) was joined by Alison Percich ’15, Kee Zo ’13, Amanda Anastasia ’13, and Lena Hess ’12 aboard a 32’ sailboat provided by John Wagner (Director of the Waterfront).
Besides the introduction of WC’s new Director of Waterfront Activities and head sailing coach, the fall semester brought about the acquisition of a new fleet, complete with colorful, new logo-branded sails. To honor those whose contributions made this possible, the new vessels were blessed with water from the Chester River.
