HPS faculty-student collaborative research

Por amor a la pelota: Once cracks de la ficción futbolera (an anthology of Latin American soccer fiction and author interviews), co-organized by Associate Professor of Spanish and Portuguese Shawn Stein and Nicolás Campisi (’14) was released by Editorial Cuarto Propio during the Feria Internacional del Libro de Santiago in Chile on 7 November, 2014. Nicolás and Dr. Stein also presented findings from their collaborative research project on Latin American soccer fiction at the annual meeting of the Northeast Modern Language Association (NeMLA) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on April 6, 2014. The title of their paper was: “Trauma, fútbol y memoria colectiva en Soñé que la nieve ardía de Antonio Skármeta y La luz oscura de Nicolás Vidal.” Archival research for this project was conducted at the archives of the United States Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. and the Biblioteca Nacional in Santiago, Chile during summer 2013.
