The Office of Student Activities brought Angela Rose to speak with students about the experiences that led her to become an activist for sexual violence prevention. She is the founder of the organization PAVE: Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment, to create education and action surrounding the issues of sexual violence. Through PAVE, Angela has trained students (including athletes, fraternities and sororities) in sexual assault prevention, produced a documentary entitled Transition to Survivor, and founded Men Opposing Sexual Assault, a student group that highlights the importance of men in the anti-sexual assault movement. Students contributed to an art project that subverts a symbol of captivity, a plastic bracelet used for bondage, into a source of personal empowerment.
