Dr. Munson gave one final McLain lecture “On Hunting” to conclude his tenure as McLain Professor of Environmental Studies at Washington College. Following the lecture, faculty, staff, students, and alumni joined at a reception to honor Dr. Munson. As a professor of both environmental studies and biology, Dr. Munson has taught and inspired many students in the natural sciences. Thank you, Dr. Munson!
Admitted students for the Class of 2015 and their families visited campus to learn more about the natural science and mathematics programs.Professors and current students from the areas of biology, chemistry, math and computer science, environmental studies, physics, premed, nursing and psychology gave presentations and answered questions about their respective programs.
The Center for Environment & Society teamed up with WC-ALL to bring Natalie Cely, Ambassador of Ecuador, to a special luncheon where she spoke about the Yasuní-ITT Initiative, an effort to protect an expanse of wilderness and the culture of indigenous peoples from multinational corporate oil interests.
