Salt Marsh Lecture

Date: March 7 2013 4:30pm

Join Pickering Creek Audubon for a lecture on the importance of salt marsh habitat. This is the first of a three-part program with Pickering Creek designed to first educate the public about salt marshes and then encourage the implementation of that knowledge with restoration projects.

CHESTERTOWN - Come to Washington College for a crash course in salt marshes. What are they and why are they important? The second stage of this program will be a guided marsh walk at Blackwater NWR, and the third will be a half-day planting and restoration day at Blackwater NWR. This program is designed to educate the public about salt marshes and then encourage the implementation of that knowledge with restoration projects.
