Vicky Sawyer, M.S., L.C.P.C.

Associate Director, Center for Career Development
Vicky Sawyer currently serves as Career Counselor and Associate Director at the Center for Career Development. She has been associated with the Center for 28 years now, starting with a part-time position back in 1987.
Vicky earned her B.S. from the University of North Carolina- Greensboro and M.S. from East Carolina University, both in Human Development and Counseling.  Her focus in career counseling included specialized training through Loyola University Maryland and she is recognized as a Master Career Counselor by National Association of Career Development.
She deeply believes in getting to know students on an individual level, in order to understand their goals in life, and connect them with the resources to accomplish these goals.  She enjoys being a part of the academic life and career of her students, even after they graduate and settle down with their own families. She believes that her interest in the students as unique individuals is what has kept her at the job for so long.
Vicky grew up in North Carolina, and moved to Kent County in 1978. Her interests outside of work include her granddaughters, Hana and Clara, and nature’s therapy - gardening and landscaping.
