American Chemical Society
The Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society Chapter are strongly committed to the celebration and promotion of chemistry education on campus, in the community, and around the world.
Events include lectures, field trips, and the celebration of National Chemistry Week each October.
Among recent student initiatives: the collection of science textbooks for students in Tanzania. Closer to home, the chapter performs “Magic Shows” for local schools to spark interest in the field of science. Sharing the joy of science is, after all, a main goal of the Chapter!
Another great networking opportunity is the American Chemical Society’s National Conference. With hundreds of lectures to choose from, in topics ranging from environmental science, to physical chemistry, to biomedical research, this is truly an exciting event. Through these events, members come to realize that an appreciation for chemistry is not just suitable for the sciences, but for life itself!
