Washington College’s Hillel is a student-run organization which strives to actively support our campus’s Jewish community.
Creative Jewish programming, student enthusiasm, and a willingness to accommodate students from all denominations are the founding characteristics of Washington College’s Hillel.
Hillel is the heart of Jewish life on Washington College’s campus. Formal and informal gatherings focusing on Jewish issues, lifelong learning, and participation in rituals and celebrations allow us to develop one another in line with Jewish values. Shabbath evening services and a home-cooked meal are a foundation of our Hillel activities.
New this year is the Hillel Leadership Scholarship, a $2,500 scholarship awarded to an incoming freshman who demonstrates interest in Jewish life and learning, renewable for four years as long as a committed and fruitful connection with Hillel and a strong academic standing is maintained.
Finally, Washington College Hillel students know how to have a good time—social events bring students together and provide a much needed reprieve from course work.
