Caring for Kids

Helping Children in Need

Caring for Kids represents Washington College students who want to help children in need. We are committed to easing the suffering of children at Johns Hopkins Hospital and helping children around Kent County.

During the Halloween Parade, Caring for Kids members promoted the ideals of Make a Difference Day to the local Chestertown community.  With their Charlie Brown themed “It’s the Great Pumpkin” float, they distributed pieces of candy that told people to “Make a Difference”.

Make a Difference Day is the largest national day to help others.

Spring 2013 Plans

Next semester we are going into the schools around Washington College and reading one on one with the children since their reading scores are so low.We are doing a pajama drive where we will donate pajamas to the sick children at Johns Hopkins. Finally, we will be having a school supply drive for the students in Kent County schools.

Fall 2012

In early November, Caring for Kids partnered with the bowling club to co-host the Jimm Todd Bowling Tournament to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
