Class of 2002

Class Notes

Winter 2009

Tamanya Garza loves living in Philadelphia. Between prepping for grad school and learning about marketing in a very diverse urban center, Tamanya keeps in touch with her theater roots and visits Rome when she can.

Dr. Matthew Hopson, after completing his residency training in traditional podiatric and orthopedic surgical methods, moved from Denver to practice medicine closer to home. He recently joined a podiatry practice in Culpepper, VA.

Jordan Yelinek completed his Ph.D. in cell biology from Yale University and moved to San Francisco. He works as a consultant for The Alexander Group, Inc., in their health care practice, mainly focusing on biotech and pharmaceutical companies. He writes, "California is a beautiful place to live. When I moved here a little over a year ago, I turned to my best friend turned roommate... and native Californian, and asked: 'When will this place feel like home?' It was hypothetical but, a year later, we were at a cocktail party at the University Club listening to Elizabeth Alexander, Obama's Poet Laureate, give a lecture, and I realized that I now call San Francisco home (as much as any place can be away from Chestertown)."

Rachel Cronkhite Wimer completed her master's degree in professional writing and editing at George Mason University in May 2009. She is enjoying her work as a technical writer for CACI, Inc., a company providing professional services and IT solutions in defense, intelligence, homeland security and federal civilian government arenas, based in Arlington, VA.
