The Washington College Crime Mapping and Analysis Program (CMAP) has had the opportunity on several occasions to assist Maryland’s StateStat office. StateStat is a performance-measurement and management tool that was implemented by Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley to make Maryland state government more efficient.
One of the more recent projects that CMAP completed for StateStat were a series of short videos depicting the change in homicide pattern in Prince George’s County and Baltimore City, Maryland.
These videos were made from a series of static maps and then combined using video editing software into the final product. The videos are featured on the State of Maryland YouTube page.
