Travel Information

As most of you will be coming from different parts of the world, we would like you to have a great trip in reaching the United States and our campus in Chestertown, Maryland. Please feel free to contact us with any travel information queries.

Attendees should plan to arrive at BWI Baltimore International Airport on Saturday, June 15th and return on Sunday, June 23rd. Secure pickup from the BWI airport to Washington College will be provided.

Where is Chestertown located?

Chestertown, founded in 1706, served as a port of entry during colonial times. Chestertown is one of the loveliest small towns in the United States, on the scenic Chester River on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Chestertown is also only 90 minutes away from three major cities — Washington D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia — and less than an hour away from Annapolis, Maryland’s state capital. The town offers a unique array of shops and restaurants, as well as access to the Chester River.

How safe is Chestertown?

Chestertown is a very small town with many residential areas and a friendly community. Chestertown is a very safe area for your kids, and they will be under excellent care and careful watch from our faculty and staff.

There will be a counselor present at all time with students, even during the night in their dorms. No students will be permitted to walk around the town on their own. Our summer program is licensed by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. All faculty and staff have passed criminal record background checks and have received emergency first aid/CPR training.

Girls and boys will be placed separately in different floors with a counselor present.
