Let’s grab something to eat!
With the recent opening of Hodson Hall Commons, students now have several campus dining options.
Grab and Go
Casual dining is located on the first floor of the Commons. Operating until late evening, options include Mondo Subs, Martha’s Kitchen – serving an eclectic menu of locally grown food in a flexible format, and the campus coffee bar, Java George. These specialty-dining venues offer weekly specials and promotions.
In the main dining hall, students, faculty and staff will find made-to-order meals along with self-serve options allowing for a customized dining experience. Seating arrangements include large and small dining areas on the main floor with a mezzanine-level lounge furnished with couches, standing lamps and coffee tables perfect for informal dining.
There are several meal plans to choose from that fit individual student needs. Meal plans are accepted at Hodson Dining Hall while Equivalency and Flex dollars are accepted in all WC Dining locations.
In addition to lots of caffeinated beverages, you can pick up sandwiches and pastries, too.
In February 2013, Washington College’s Dining Services took home honors in Chartwell’s Be-A-Star program, and Jennifer Sipala, director of retail dining, won the Star Associate Challenge, which recognizes employees who go above and beyond their duties to satisfy guests and assist their teams.
The YouFirst Retail Sales Challenge recognized the success of retail operations including Martha’s Kitchen, Mondo’s Subs, Java George, and the Miller Library cafe. Creative promotional campaigns like Phrase Of The Day, Flip a Coin, and Boy Band Thursdays helped to increase sales and attract new customers.
“It feels really good to be recognized, but not just for me,” Sipala said. “The entire retail staff deserves credit too, because we would not have been able to accomplish these achievements without everyone working together as a team.”
