Washington College Athletics

Shoremen teams are flying high.

Our varsity programs this spring are building on their recent successes. In 2012 Washington College became the first school to qualify for the Centennial Conference championships in baseball, softball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, and men’s and women’s tennis, all in the same season—and four of those teams advanced to their conference championship games.

Meet Gus the Goose.

Gus, full name Augustus, is the Official Spokesgoose of Washington College and a direct descendant of a goose who befriended George Washington.  He loves all things Washington College from sporting events to theater performances, from Birthday Ball to Commencement, from the Literary House to the waterfront. His unique colors (for a goose, anyway) make him fit right in! Gus even loves May Day when he can leave his coat and sash at home.

Gus the Goose is lader of the fearless flock.
