The Admissions Office welcomes applications from international students. Please provide the documentation outlined below, along with your application for admissions.
A personal essay of 500-750 words.
A $45.00 USD application fee.
The non-refundable fee can be paid by an international money order, a bank draft, a personal check drawn on a US bank account, or a credit card (Visa or Mastercard). To make payment via credit card, call 410-778-7700.
A completed Certificate of Finances form.
We recommend that you provide a bank letter or bank statement as supporting documentation.
Records of academic progress.
Official copies of your secondary (and post-secondary, if applicable) school records in the form of transcripts, predictive exam scores (if available), exam results certificates, and/or diplomas are required. Official school documents must be translated into English. Attested copies made by recognized officials or organizations will be accepted.
The secondary school curriculum should include preparatory coursework in Math (Geometry and Algebra), English, Laboratory Science, and Social Science.
A TOEFL exam score report.
An original or attested copy of the TOEFL exam score report is required of international students whose first language is not English and/or whose secondary school curriculum was not taught in English. The minimum TOEFL score for admission to Washington College is 550 (213 computer-based). For more information, visit TOEFL.
A teacher’s recommendation.
At least one teacher’s (or instructor’s) recommendation must be submitted.
A school report.
The school report may be completed and submitted by your secondary school guidance counselor, college advisor, homeroom teacher, or headmaster.
Once the Admissions office has received your
application and all supporting materials, your file is “complete” and will be read by the Admissions and Scholarship Committees. Admissions decisions for application files completed in a timely fashion will be made no later than March 15.
